Ok..How should we start?
Hurm…The thing is like this. The develop country is of course more powerful than the developing country.
So, they have the advantage which is giving foreign aids to those foreign countries and to get the foreign aids are not that easy because the borrower will ask the recipient to fulfill rules put by them.
The impacts are firstly, the borrower will act as dominant economic power as they put the rules and of course they will put rules which give benefit to them too and it willl also promote the long-term development and growth. Like the money that we use to make big buildings which benefit the citizens will affect them maybe in 5 years more. Here, the degree of political effectiveness will play its role to what extent the resources will be used for.
Secondly, the foreign aids also will attract more domestic support by reducing taxes or increasing subsidies or distributing aids to elites to secure government control.
Thirdly, foreign aids will help to boost the development in a country where there is problem regarding the limited resources. And this problem is normally happened to the developing countries.
According to our views, the government should follow the rules put by the borrower to get the foreign aids but .it must not exceed the ability of our country to afford it. so that, we will not bear the cost that act we should not or cost that can avoid it or still the government can make some negotiation with the borrower to get the best result to the agreement.

maizatul asida-first of all,i agree with your group. it is because our country need to get foreign aids not only for financial but also in terms of influence.but as your group say, it should have the limitation.it is because as the independence country, we don't have too depends on other country.

ReplyDeleteamirah abdullah- um..to me, as one of the developing nation,it is a must for our country to seek for help from another developed countries, especially in term of expertise and technical assistance. However,we must understand the agreement made. This is important to ensure that the agreement will benefit us and not cost us too much money as it will become a wastage.
ReplyDeletenur hazirah- i am agree with your group,because we should ask help from others country. But, in my opinion we should stand on our feet and do not depends more on others country because we are independence country.
ReplyDeletenoridayati: most your point is correct and rational...b'coz when we have a foreign aid,we can create a good relationship among developed countries and can improve our development,politics, and economic.Not all countries have a strong administration so to gain a foreign aid is essential for them. However, the developing countries can't focus only to the foreign aids,they must think any alternative ways or methods how to solve the problem was arise in their countries. It's b'coz as u said in your post the gvt should follow and obedience any rules and condition that was provided by the borrower(country that has a big power eg: US,japan etc). For me, its still have a +ve and -ve effects based on how they evaluate and determine the benefits and risks that they will get in long-term period and short-term period. TQ
ReplyDeleteafifah: hai...from my side, i agree with what you guys have wrote above...it is important for our country to plan the development systematically and one of the way is by using foreign aid...from this, it will increase our level of people in our country by changing the knowledge from expertise that will be gotten by foreign aid..as a developing country,it is a good way to ask the help from outsiders but we have to remember here that our country's aim is want to be the developed country in 2020 with its own creation of the development...so, from now, the government need to train people in this country to be knowledgeable citizens in order to achieve the objectives of Wawasan 2020...

ReplyDeleteamirah abdullah: i absolutely agree with all of you guys. But, like i said before, we have to be careful. Before any agreement is made, the effects of the agreement need to be observed and investigated. The developed counties will not make any agreement that will not give benefit to them. So, we must make sure that there's no behind agenda by any party. The foreign aid is for the benefit of both parties and strengthen the relationship of our country with the other developed countries.

ReplyDeleteforeign aid is a last resort..if we still can handle our problem without no interference from others,so,just put efforts to settle it...but,if we have no other ways to settle it,we can ask for foreign aid..but,with limits..and be aware from any consequences...
